Berd Community Project — A Scalable Model of Best Practice in Armenia
13 August 2021
Since 2019, UN World Food Pragramme (WFP) began investing in nutrition-sensitive Food Value Chains in Armenia with a vision to increase national production of food items and promote a market model to contribute to country-wide economic growth. The UN World Food Programme supported the local farmers to come together and form an agricultural cooperative to combine their resources and work as a team to increase the production.
Thanks to WFP, the cooperative received the necessary equipment and guidance to effectively run its business in Tavush region. The WFP’s support helped the cooperative to increase the national growth of healthy crops ensuring profitable agricultural growth in the province.
