Our Work on the Sustainable Development Goals in Armenia
How the UN is supporting The Sustainable Development Goals in Armenia
The UN and its partners in Armenia are working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: 17 interconnected and ambitious Goals which address the major development challenges faced by people in Armenia and around the world.
The UN Country Team in Armenia supports the people and the Government of Armenia towards achieving the Agenda 2030 in line with national development priorities. Twenty UN agencies, funds and programmes deliver a broad range of programmes in areas such as gender equality, climate action, youth empowerment, education, health, employment, nutrition and food security, migration, governance, and human rights.
For example, to help Armenia achieve the Sustainable Goals at country level, the UN supported the development of an innovation platform called “SDG Lab”, which draws upon innovative methodologies and expertise available from across the world, including the UN’s own innovation facilities and tools to accelerate the implementation of SDGs in Armenia.
The UN in partnership with CSOs and other stakeholders supports the Government of Armenia towards the establishment of a national SDG Council as the principal body for coordination and oversight of the SDG Nationalization process in Armenia.
