The support was provided with the financial support of UN COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is extending support to the Government of Armenia in its pursuit of preventing further propagation of COVID-19 pandemic, through the COVID-19 response project financed by UN COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund. The Project anticipated to assist the local garment manufacturing companies with producing bedlinen and medical uniforms in line with the technical requirements set by the Ministry of Health of Armenia. Five local companies produced 2,623 sets of bed linen and 2,000 medical uniforms.
On December 14th, “SPACE 59” Center, established within the UNIDO Project, hosted the First Deputy Minister of Health, Ms. Anahit Avanesyan. Based on the document signed with the UNIDO Country Representative Ms. Anahit Simonyan, the above-mentioned items were provided to the Ministry of Health.
It is notable that the orders received by the Project helped the SMEs to maintain employment and their overall production activities.
Throughout the entire production processes, the companies received close monitoring and guidance from the experts of the UNIDO Project on “Garment and footwear sectors support” over the indicated standards for the private protective equipment set by the Ministry of RA.
