From Global Commitments to National Action
UN Armenia and partners reviewed IMRF 2026 outcomes advancing national priorities on migration data, governance and coordinated action under the Global Compact.
On June 18, the United Nations in Armenia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia convened government institutions, UN agencies and development partners to discuss the outcomes of the second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) and their relevance for Armenia.
The deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan presented the Forum's key outcomes and outlined Armenia's priorities going forward, including practical implementation, stronger migration data systems and enhanced migration governance under the Global Compact for Migration (GCM).
Held at UN Headquarters in New York City from 5-8 May 2026, the IMRF concluded with the adoption of the 2026 Progress Declaration, a roadmap for accelerating implementation of the GCM over the next four years through stronger data systems, coordinated responses and inclusive governance.
UN Resident Coordinator Françoise Jacob reaffirmed the United Nations' commitment to supporting Armenia in advancing effective and well-coordinated responses to migration.
