The measures envisaged by the cooperation program are aimed at promoting the initiatives to involve women in different units of the Armed Forces.
On May 19, Colonel Alexander Avetisyan, Head of the Human Rights and Integrity Building Centre of the RA Ministry of Defense, and Tsovinar Harutyunyan, UNFPA Armenia Country Office Assistant Representative, signed the 2020 cooperation agreement between the RA Ministry of Defense and UNFPA Armenia Country Office.
The measures envisaged by the cooperation program are aimed at promoting the initiatives to involve women in different units of the Armed Forces, as well as assisting the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia in the implementation of the national program 2020-2021 aimed at the implementation of the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace and Security".
The annual programs of cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and UNFPA Armenia Country Office have been signed since 2014, targeting issues of the protection of rights of and equal opportunities for women in the Armed Forces.
