A conference on Sustainable Development in Armenia was held in Yerevan, organized by the European Business Association. The event served as a strategic platform to engage key stakeholders ֊ including government representatives, international organizations, civil society, academia, private sector leaders, and youth advocates ֊ to accelerate progress on sustainable development both within Armenia and globally.
The conference focused on Armenia’s path toward COP30 in Brazil and its upcoming role as the host of COP17 on Biodiversity in the autumn of 2026. It provided an opportunity to explore local and regional challenges related to climate change, biodiversity conservation, and resource depletion.

In her address, UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, Francoise Jacob, emphasized the importance of Armenia demonstrating its commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as it prepares to host COP17.
“We believe that for Armenia, hosting COP17 is an opportunity to become a champion in biodiversity. With the government's leadership and support from all stakeholders, we can be confident in the success of this endeavor,” she stated.
