FAO on International Year of Plant Health

The United Nations had declared 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH), which was extended for another six months, until 30 June 2021. Its main purpose was to draw the world’s attention once again to agricultural production, to improve volumes and quality.

If we want to build aspiration of better production, it requires the focus on all levels of sustainability, and addressing the plant health in a value chain approach is a key issue we will also need to promote further.

FAO representation office in Armenia is working closely with the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia to address also the issues related to plant health and its protection that the country is currently facing.
